Happy Valentine's Day

Grandma Kerwin sent over a gorgeous little Valentine's day outfit for Liam. At first I don't think he was impressed being dressed up in a kind of girly looking outfit, but then he was playing around like nobody's business!

We started baby yoga on Tuesday. I just love this class! I saw a few of the mums that I took Pregnancy yoga with. We got to meet each other's babies and talk all about the births and general mum stuff. It's amazing how you will just share rather personal details with people that you really don't know very well! It's totally packed, but great to see all of the little babies... our Liam, of course, is the most gorgeous!!! We start off by singing a little song to welcome all of the babies, it's so cute. We do a bit of yoga for the mums and then get active with the little ones. I didn't know half of the songs, but after the first round was able to join in. I didn't realise there was such a difference in nursery rhymes/ songs across the Atlantic. We ended the session with a bit of relaxation and Liam fell asleep as he lay on my tummy.

Other news... we've moved into our new house (I'll get some pictures posted up when I get it organised a bit better. It's a complete building site! There are about another 20 houses and a few apartments still being finished off... should hopefully be a bit better by Easter. We moved in all of the furniture and boxes on Sunday and spent our first night in the house. The blinds didn't arrive until Monday afternoon... so the builders nearly got a nice show (although not that nice post baby!) The spare bedroom furniture was in on Tuesday evening and Wednesday the new kitchen tablte. Granny Reynolds was up most of the week and together we have nearly finished unpacking and sorting out the house! There are tons of boxes left, but I'm leaving that for Oliver to enjoy this weekend when he gets back from London. Right, that's all for now...

2 Months

A big 2 month happy birthday to our wee man! I say wee, but there's nothing really wee about him. He went for his first round of injections on Thursday and did not enjoy them one bit! It broke my heart to hear his screams- he was so upset after the first jab and then the next one made him cry even harder. He was weighed and measured and generally checked over by the doctor. Our big boy is up to 13lbs, 13.5ozs (just under a stone) and 62cm long (just under 25ins)! Everyone always asks if he's 4 or 5 months old. His 0-3 month clothes are starting to get a bit tight on him and I think I might need to get the 3-6 month ones out. Here are some photos for your enjoyment...
Babies R US in the UK are having a beautiful baby competition. The winners get a professional photo shoot and will be featured in the new magazine. I am going to enter our Liam. I'm thinking about using this photo...
or maybe this one...
Whatever I use, I know he'll be a winner!! He is so gorgeous!!!

Bathtime and other pics...

Liam still isn't that big of a fan of bathtime. I'm hoping that he starts to enjoy it a bit more because I'm hoping to start him in water babies in a few months time. He's starting to get a bit better and seems to enjoy it more after a feed. I'm still using only a little of Johnson's top to toe, but he's really starting to lose his hair.

I took him into work last week to see everyone. I bought him this super cute shirt from New Look that says "Chicks Love Me"... and it's true. I just can't stand how adorable he is sometimes!! He's just so cute!

I got him a new little bouncer for his Granny Reynolds' house. He loves this thing. He just kicks his little feet constantly. He's so alert and spends most of his day looking around him and smiling. He's also cooing like mad! He sometimes gets a little frustrated after trying to talk for a while, but we all keep talking to him and encouraging him to talk to us. He's just the cutest little man ever!

He was weighed and measured last friday and is still 61 cm and now a whopping 12lbs 7ozs. He is due his first course of injections next week and I'm not really looking forward to it. I know it's necessary, but I have a feeling he'll be very cross at us and might not feel to great for a while. His eyes are still a dark blue and seem to be actually lightening a little bit. My eyes are brown and Ollie's hazel, but everyone else in my family has blue eyes... so they might stay that way.

I'll get some more pictures and videos up soon!

Out and about...

We've been meeting up with Liam's little friends. There were 4 of us all due around the same time, with Liam the last to arrive. We meet up with Anna and little Oliver for coffee. Oliver's 5 weeks older than Liam and the most content little baby ever. Each time I've met him, he's been sound asleep... not our Liam, he's always with eyes wide open wanting to look all around him! Here's little Oliver looking as cute as ever...

The next day we went up to see little Jack, the little twin who lost his brother back in November. Although he is officially 3 weeks older than Liam, Jack was 8 weeks premature and was very weak when he was brought home from hospital just before Christmas. He's really thriving now and has nearly doubled his birth weight. He's still very tiny, but looks just like his daddy.

Here's Liam getting ready to go to visit Jack...

And passed out on arrival...

Liam smiles

I've been taking videos of our little man trying to get him to smile, just to prove to everyone that I'm not one of those mums that exaggerate their child's abilities.

See! How cute is he!!!

He's very alert now. He's always seemed very alert, but is much more so now. After his feeds during the day, he will stare at me or his mobile and make cooing noises. In the last week or so, he has been making smiles and responding to my voice. He's just brilliant!

1 Month

Well our boy is getting bigger and bigger and stronger and stronger. He's now 61cm long and a big 11lbs 4ozs. He's exclusively into 0-3 months (he only fit the newborn stuff for a little over a week anyway). I've introduced him to tummy time and he gets a bit of exercise twice a day. He's really strong and has been able to support his head fairly well since birth.

He is just so gorgeous and I still sit and stare at him wondering how I created this beautiful little thing. He's up to 5 or 6ozs at each feed and now exclusively on formula. He just wasn't taking to the breast and I stopped trying to force him just after 3 weeks. I was a bit disappointed, but he's as bright as anything and a lot more content this way.

Here's my beautiful wee man getting ready to smile. He's smiling all of the time now and i don't think it's just wind. He studies my face and reacts to my voice. He follows me around the room with his eyes.

Our friend Andrea got Liam the most gorgeous little pair of converse ever! I know you're not supposed to keep them in shoes, but they are just to cute not to put him in every now and then!!

3 Weeks

Happy 3 Week birthday to Liam! The changes continue... He's now surpassed his birth weight and is at 10lbs 7ozs (although we did weigh him just after a feed, so perhaps it's not totally accurate). He's still quite a handful. He needs constant reassurance and we find that we are holding him all of the time to stop his cries. He's starting to wake ever couple of hours through the night which is so exhausting. I find it hard to keep my eyes open most days, but he's so alert during the day and only falls to sleep when someone is holding him that I can't really catch up on the sleep. Ollie is now back to work full time, but is taking a couple of days off next week to let me study for a final exam for one of my classes... school was a bit of a bad idea! But I'm so nearly finished that I'm going to just keep at it.

Some pictures...

My super handsome man! He has so much hair, he'll need a cut soon enough!

He's so strong. He can support his own head for a good few minutes. If I lie him on his tummy, he can lift his head. He's super alert and stares in your eyes when you speak to him. I think he can recognise me and Ollie already. He's also started taking notice of his mobile and watches the little aeroplanes and boats move around. He loves lights and turns his head towards them once they turn on. Think our wee man's pretty smart already!
Liam and mommy on the couch.
Other news- our house is nearly ready! 25th of January is our closing date. I'm so excited to get back into our own place. I can't wait to start decorating the house and getting Liam's nursery sorted!
